In terms of us as an au pair agency we are very strict and we do not enlist all au pairs that come our way. In fact we only generally enlist an average of 30% of the candidates that come for interviews, as many candidates do not pass our interview process.

In terms of the interview process and enlisting au pairs with our agency, we do the following with all candidates:

  • We screen candidates before they even get booked for an interview
  • We ensure that they have a minimum of 1 years au pair and/or teaching experience
  • We ensure that they have a minimum of 2 years driving experience
  • We have a 1 hour face-to-face interview with each candidate
  • We do a psychometric test on each candidate
  • We do a childcare test with each candidate
  • We check their references – including telephonic conversations with their previous employers
  • We confirm that they have a valid driver’s license and their own car which is roadworthy and has seatbelts in the back
  • We confirm that they can commit to a family for a minimum of 1 year, preferably longer
  • We confirm that they have not had any addiction or substance use etc. in the past 5 years
